Call for Industry Panel Proposals

IEEE GLOBECOM 2020 plans to hold a number of industry panels and invites the submission of industry panel proposals. Industry panel emphasizes on recent topics of technical and business issues in communications and networking of particular interests to the community.

Structure of Industry Panel

  • A panel should not have more than 4 panelists, plus the moderator
  • One of the organizers (if there are more than one organizer) serves as the moderator
  • The organizer(s) should prepare in advance a few questions on the panel topic and give the questions in advance to the panelists
  • A panel occupies one timeslot (i.e., 90 minutes)
  • The moderator gives a 10-minute introduction about the topic at the beginning of the panel
  • Each panelist should give a 10-minute presentation with a small number of slides
  • The audience is invited to ask questions at the end of the panel

  • Cloud and Fog/Edge Computing, Networking and Storage
  • Electronic Commerce Including Blockchain Applications and Supporting Infrastructures
  • Security and Privacy
  • Intelligent Radios

Preparation of Industry Panel Proposals

The length of each proposal should not exceed 5 pages in total, and a proposal should include:

  1. Title of the panel
  2. Name, position, affiliation, and contact information of the organizer(s)
  3. Name, position, affiliation, and contact information of the panelists
  4. Motivation and scope of the panel
  5. A brief description of the technical issues that the panel will address
  6. If appropriate, a description of past Industry Panel organized by the proposer, including number of attendees, etc.
  7. If appropriate, a description of how to advertise/promote this Industry Panel
  8. Biography and photo of the organizer(s)
  9. Biographies and photos of all panelists
  10. One page of Call for Participation for the Industry Panel

  • Proposal Submission Deadline: 15 July 2020 (Extended)
  • Proposal Acceptance Notification: 1 August 2020
  • Slides Submission: 16 October 2020

Submission of Industry Panel Proposals

  • A proposal should be sent as a single PDF file to the Industry Panel co-chair via the following email address: hywei@ntu.edu.tw
  • Use “Proposal of GLOBECOM2020 Industry Panel” as the title of email for submitting the proposal
